The Boathouse champion the British Skippers Scheme which aims to ensure the fishermen get a fair price for their fish, while our chef gets unique access to the best of their catch - responsibly caught, premium quality product, with full provenance and traceability.

A word from our chef,
I grew up in a German family in South Africa surrounded by Europeans; as you can imagine my kitchen influences were diverse. I started my career in a family-run Tuscan restaurant. This is where my path was set as I'd fallen in love with using local and fresh products. 

I continued my journey and it led me to Kent where I had the pleasure of working at a well regarded pub in Berkshire Kent. Here I was able to source almost all of my ingredients from local farmers and fisherman off the coast of Kent, while honing my skills in modern and classic British cuisine. 

My move to London took me to an incredibly busy pub on Hampstead Heath before wanting to get back into fresh and locally sourced produce which has led me here to the Boathouse in February 2012. I feel like I am back in the country as I am able to contact my suppliers directly and search for best quality seasonal ingredients.
